My garden of eden

I've been going through withdrawal from San Francisco and the wealth of salvage yards/ flea markets where you can find cool old junk for REALLY cheap. Today I resolved to explore my South Florida stomping grounds and sniff out some places where I could some good 'ole San-Fran style digging.

Enter: Allison's Adam & Eve - Architectural salvage - BINGO! I know what I'm doing this weekend!

These photos really got me excited. Is that normal?

and I can't wait to check out their sconce room. Yes. Room. of sconces. Pictured above. Fingers crossed that this place is CHEAP- you never can tell in south florida. If anyone out there has some more suggestions- send 'em over!

  1. I have never heard of this place. I'd love to know if you made it out there. It's a bit of a drive for me, so it would have to be worth it. A great thrift store in the Ft. Lauderdale that is worth the drive for me is the Faith Farm Thrift Store. Sign up for their email/newsletter and they notify you of sales which they do every couple of months. I got this chandelier for $2.00. http://jandjhome.blogspot.com/2010/10/office-chandelier.html
I'd love to hear of any place you find that are good. XO

  2. Hey J,

Nice to hear from a fellow floridian! This place is REALLY cool, but it is definitely geared toward its Palm Beach clientle. It's not nearly as dirt cheap as I would have hoped. It's got excellent architectural stuff like doors, but its not a bargain at all. It's like- if you're going to spend $1,500 on a door anyway and you want something with character, you go there.

$2.00 is DEFINITELY up my alley- we should go thrifting! haha, There are some places up here by me in delray that are good.
